I believe all children can achieve with the right supports and interventions in place. As a public school teacher, vice principal, principal, and researcher, I have dedicated my professional life to strengthening the public school system and consider a high-quality public education a basic human right for all children.
We Need to Focus
on Curriculum
EUSD math and reading scores have fallen five points in the last ten years. This shows that current curriculum and teaching methods aren’t as effective as they should be. I want to ensure the correct supports are in place so that all EUSD children are getting the high-quality education they deserve.
We Need a Written
Tech Policy
Technology was introduced en mass to classrooms during Covid as an emergency measure. But as students returned to in-person learning, EUSD,
like many districts, failed to evaluate appropriate limits to the use of technology in instruction. And now, neuroscientists are showing a correlation between
the number of hours students are engaged with technology and a decline in cognitive function.
As educators, parents, and community members it is our job
to demand better for students.
